Flatiron theme question: How to link to other kinds of page from the index?

Flatiron seems to cater exclusively for photo galleries in the index, is there a way of linking to any other kind of page from the index? Specifically I'm trying to link to a page where I'll have a video, from the index (rows of thumbnails)
