Index thumbnail titles on hover in Avenue template

Hi,

I am trying to get the Thumbnail Titles to show on hover in my index page:

Similar to what is achieved on this page:

However, I am using the Avenue template and I can't get the code to work for my template. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
