This might be a strange question, but I've searched and not found a satisfactory answer. I already own a domain for my site, purchased from and currently hosted by 1&1. I understand and follow how to map that domain so it points to squarespace, but once I do, will I still have to pay 1&1 for their hosting services, in addition to squarespace for their hosting services?
I don't see exactly how I can keep my domain registered with 1&1 and yet have the site hosted somewhere else. So I'm clearly confused about something! Hopefully this isn't a difficult question to answer. Thanks!
