Events - Alternative Date Formats

Dear all,

I love the event function - it's really cool. However I have one big problem:

My site is in German (dovetail template) - and the event function uses US Style Date and Time Formats only, which makes it more or less useless for me.

Is there any way to get a proper HH:MM time format and a DD.MM.YYYY date format?
